Nogizaka Haruka – Possible Nendo faces?

Anime August 26th, 2008

So I noticed during my second run through of Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu a lot of potential Nendo faces, which I will put below.  Personally i’d like to see all of these but the most I’ve ever seen for a Nendo is 3 different faces.  Which one is your favorite?

Haruka Shocked!

Shocku-face!

Haruka Squeee face

Squee-face

haruka stare face

That sexy stare face

Haruka embarrassed

Embarrassed.

Personally I can’t pick, So I want all of them.  Good Smile are you reading this?!

Bandai’s Code Geass Off-Shoot Guren Nishiki Type 2

Figures August 25th, 2008

Hey everybody just wanted to give you a heads up that I’ll be receiving Bandai’s Code Geass In Action OffShoot Guren Nishiki Type 2 figure soon. For those who don’t know this is the knightmare frame that Kallen pilots.  So you can expect a review for it!  This will be the first review of a figure I’ll be doing, granted it’s not a review requested by Bandai but doing it with my own spare time.

Word on the net is that Code Geass Offshoot figures are very high quality figures, especially considering the price tag on them are rather low — average about 30 US Dollars –.  So hopefully you’ll check out the review when it’s out!  Here’s a image for you all to enjoy until the review is up!

Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu

Anime August 19th, 2008

I never heard about this anime before, and just came across it recently as I was looking through this season’s anime list.  After a quick look up on MAL, I found that the plot was interesting, as well as it’s rating was fairly good.  So I gave it a shot.

Nogizaka Haruka

A quick summary found from MAL.

In the story, Yuuto Ayase is an ordinary boy in an private high school with the usual cliques. Haruka, the school’s most unattainable girl, is so idolized in the school for both her beauty and smarts that her classmates nickname her Nuit Étoile (The Silver Star of the Night) and Lumière du Clavier (The Shining Princess on the Piano). However, in the school’s library, Yūto stumbles across her and her darkest secret — she is a diehard fan of anime, manga, and otaku culture.

Minutes ago I have just finished episode 6, and I must say I’m impressed.  This has to be the most realistic anime I have seen yet.  How do I mean realistic?  Well for starters the characters are pretty normal.  To further exemplify what I mean is the fact there isn’t any tsundere character – thank god – so that is a plus.

A tsundere character basically means one that gets angry and beats up people.  An example ise Louise from Zero no Tsukaima.  I don’t really mind that type of character, but with so many anime these days featuring at least one, it’s appeal has gotten pretty old and annoying.

You tend to end up with main characters that appear very weak, and the fact of a female character that is unlikely to be found in real life.  I doubt you’ll find a girl in real life that will kick your ass just for accidentally seeing them naked – scold you they might however -, not only that but stops to listen to you.

As of episode 6, there has not been a single tsundere character to be found, which is a relief for me.

Ayase Yuuto is the main character of the story here, he lives with his older sister Ruko who apparently works for a catering business, and his homeroom teacher whose name escapes me at the moment.  He appears to be a very average person who accepts people for who they are.

Nogizaka Haruka is the other main character in this anime, she happens to be perfect at everything she does, except one thing which you can find out for yourself, and happens to be a moe character, she pretty much a girly girl, which is nice to see with the abundance of tsundere main characters these days.

There are many supporting characters such as family members, friends and classmates.

The anime does have it’s fair share of fan-service, however it’s not extreme and based entirely around it like some anime are.  All in all give ‘er a shot.
